This is Axl Jet Baños, and I have an exciting announcement that my old top-down shooter game project titled Space Monsters is now renamed and merged into Space Monsters Classic since I made it from scratch using GameMaker 8.0 from the initial development in the year 2013 to its public release in 2015 via Game Jolt as the primary game distribution platform, with a major update in 2016. Now in 2025, the game is majorly updated to V. 1.50 as the anniversary edition, but its availability has been moved to here in Itch.io from Game Jolt due to my monetization efforts. Do you love top-down shooter games like Hotline Miami, Alien Swarm, Alien Breed, and Alien Shooter? Then this game is just for you to play as it is directly influenced by these inspirations: Alien Shooter, Alien Swarm, Half-Life, Doom, Alien Breed, Crimsonland, The House of the Dead, and Quake.

For those who do not know what this game is all about, Space Monsters is a contemporary, sci-fi-themed top-down shooter game that takes place in the spectacular year 2025, where you as one of the operatives of the covert-ops hybrid multinational, peacekeeping, and crisis-response paramilitary organization known as the Investigative Force, under the command of General Baxter, in order to investigate the entire incident, triggered and erupted by an alien invasion via the teleportation devices from space that landed on Earth. The exact setting of this game is in the the Long Passage Headquarters, a massively hybridized yet complex and central facility that combines decaying 20th-century construction with technologically cutting-edge upgrades from the 21st century and beyond, and is located within the heart of Stuckholmes City, a city in St. Lanton County, which is a remote county in either Northern Illinois or Southern Ohio. Since this structure was originally constructed by a crew of unnamed yet highly classified American organization in the year 1996 and upgraded into a hybridized site thanks to America, Japan, South Korea, and other technologically advanced nations when it comes to its decaying state, it is also became a base of operations for the U.S. military personnel, scientists, and the Bio-Mesa Corporation as a whole, and a central and focal point of the alien invasion, caused by the teleportation devices that have landed from space to Earth's atmosphere, making it a labyrinthine battleground for a clash between human resisters and alien invaders and a key narrative setting for uncovering the truth behind the alien invasion, military covert operations secrets, and the secrets of Bio-Mesa Corporation.

In this game, you can play as one of the operatives of the Investigative Force, such as Billmore Hawkins, an American soldier who formerly fought the War on Terror in the Middle East during his years as the enlisted U.S. Army serviceman, to navigate through multiple sectors of a compound, including corporate offices, warehouses, industrial manufacturing sites, scientific laboratories, military bases, and an underground sewer, and destroy the alien foes, including Roki and Syrax, with an arsenal of military and futuristic weapons in order to save humanity from complete annihilation and extinction in the Space Monsters lore. Aside from Billmore, there are 5 additional playable characters in this game:

• Josh Celton - A Scottish-born British operative and Billmore's foreign best friend.
• Samantha "Sam" Ramsen - A powerful American military detective and amazon of the Investigative Force.
• Deck Howell - A Canadian technician known for his machinery and hacking systems.
• Blake Andrews - A cybernetically enhanced American super-soldier .
• Rina Stock - An Irish assassin trained in stealth, assassination, speed, and counter-infiltration techniques.

All of which are the key members of the Investigative Force. Together, they will investigate this incident, erupted by an alien invasion.
